HoyoVerse has re-released the banners of Raiden Shogun and Ayato in Genshin Impact. This is the third banner rerun for Raiden Shogun, while it is the second time for Ayato’s banner. If you’re interested in adding either one of these playable characters to your current team, then now is the best time to try your luck. Raiden Shogun and Ayato’s banners are going to run until January 17, 2023.
If you’re unsure whether to get Raiden Shogun or Ayato, then this short guide below will help you:
Raiden Shogun is an Electro playable character. She is comprised of two entities in one body: Raiden Ei, who is the current Electro Archon of Inazuma, and the Shogun, who is the puppet created by Ei to act as the ruler of Inazuma.
As a playable character, Raiden Shogun has a very flexible kit. This allows players to either build her as a Main DPS, Sub DPS, or Support. Raiden Shogun can deal high active and passive Electro Damage. She also has a high Energy Recharge rate and can increase her team’s Elemental Burst Damage.
You will definitely want to pull for Raiden Shogun if your team is lacking an Electro Main DPS or Sub DPS. She can also act as a support for your DPS characters like Eula.
Ayato is a Hydro playable character. He is the leader of the Kamisato Clan and the Yashiro Commissioner. He is also the older brother of Kamisato Ayaka. Although serving an important role in Inazuma, Ayato likes to keep a low profile and instead focuses on government affairs in the Commission.
As a playable character, Ayato wields a sword to deal Hydro damage to his enemies. You can build Ayato as your team’s Main DPS by focusing on his Normal Attack damage. While if you lack a Hydro DPS in your team, then you can equip Ayato with the right weapon and artifacts to boost the Hydro damage from his Elemental Skill and Burst.
Choose Ayato over Raiden Shogun if your team can deliver better damage with Hydro Elemental Resonance than Electro.
