‘Resident Evil Village’ Gets New ‘Winters’ Expansion’

‘Resident Evil has always been one of the most beloved horror franchises of the last several decades. And its newest iteration, ‘Resident Evil Village’ has been one of the best titles so far. So, what do you give fans that anticipate more horror goodness? Why, more Resident Evil of course, in the form of the Winters’ Expansion.

This game is set a few years after the horrifying events in the critically acclaimed Resident Evil 7 Biohazard, the all-new storyline begins with Ethan Winters and his wife Mia living peacefully in a new location, free from their past nightmares. Just as they are building their new life together, tragedy befalls them once again.

Chris Redfield, the iconic hero from the Resident Evil series, is reacquainted with the couple and horribly disrupts their life, spiraling Ethan into chaos. A devastated Ethan finds himself in a remote snow-capped village seeking answers after being thrown into an entirely new nightmare.

Let’s step a minute…before the events of Resident Evil Village, Ethan Winters received a mysterious email from Mia, his wife, who had been missing for a few years. Without the slightest hint of hesitation, Ethan made his way to Dulvey, Louisiana to search for Mia’s whereabouts… and was led straight to the mansion of the twisted Baker family as a result.

In other words, Resident Evil 7 Biohazard set the stage for a new generation of survival horror as seen directly through Ethan’s eyes, making the struggle for survival through a house of nightmares that much more personal.

While Ethan and Mia were ultimately able to escape and create a new, peaceful life together, a new tragedy is about to unfold… one that will take a distraught Ethan to a mystifying village in search of answers to painful questions. And while the village itself may look pristine from all the freshly fallen snow, disturbing events are happening just out of sight.

Tiny movements catch the corners of Ethan’s eyes, while strange shapes loom on the horizon. It’s among the dilapidated sheds and houses that he may find his answers… or he may find something far more sinister. Strange creatures, odd symbols, and an unusual fairy tale all come together with the power of the RE Engine in the latest trailer to make Resident Evil Village a true showcase of next-generation survival horror.

Utilizing the capabilities of next generation gaming PCs, the detailed realism and relentless feeling of fear will increase with each desperate battle for survival, while moments of calm will leave players wondering what new horrors await. With hyper-detailed graphics, intense first-person action and masterful storytelling, the terror has never felt more realistic and inescapable.

Also, gamers who pre-order the Winters’ Expansion now will receive the Street Wolf Outfit as a special bonus for heroine Rose Winters to wear as she explores a mysterious realm of consciousness in search of a cure for her unwanted powers. Before the Winters’ Expansion and Resident Evil Village Gold Edition arrive, players will also have the chance to experience the campaign from a new perspective.

And that’s not all—The Resident Evil Re:Verse multiplayer experience, free for all Resident Evil Village owners, will continue the festivities with an early access event that begins on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2022 at 7pm PDT and runs until Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2022 at 11pm PDT.

New content will come to Resident Evil Re:Verse in future updates, including additional survivors, creatures, stages, costumes, and challenge missions. To enjoy the game, players must register for a Capcom ID and link their account with their platform of choice.

This expansion includes Third Person Mode, “The Mercenaries Additional Orders,” and “Shadows of Rose,” a new narrative DLC following the story of Ethan’s daughter Rosemary set 16 years after the main campaign, and will be available for the PC (Steam) starting Oct. 28, 2022.

So, get those gaming PCs ready for action!
