Genshin 2.7 Update has been delayed by its developer, HoYoverse. The company officially informed fans through an official announcement on their social media pages. There have been hints at a possible delay since the Marvelous Merchandise event exceeded its duration, ending on May 13 while it was supposed to end on May 10.

Usually, HoYoverse releases an update every six weeks. And for the first time since its release, it was the first time the company wasn’t able to follow its update schedule. The previous update, Genshin Impact 2.6, included a new area called The Chasm and a new Hydro 5-star character, Kamisato Ayato.

Genshin Impact 2.7 Update

Meanwhile, the new update, Genshin Impact 2.7, will bring new characters into the game, including Yelan and Kiko Shinobu. Yelan is a mysterious character who hails from Liyue and claims to work for its Ministry of Civil Affairs. She is a Hydro 5-star character who wields a bow.

On the other hand, Kuki Shinobu is part of the notorious Arataki Gang. She became an influential figure who transformed the whole gang’s business. Currently, she is the Deputy Leader of the Arataki Gang. As a playable character in the game, Kuki Shinobu is a 4-star Electro character who uses a sword to defeat her enemies.

Future Release

While the company didn’t explain why Genshin Impact 2.7 will be delayed, fans have been speculating. According to many, the delay may have been caused by the COVID-19 lockdown in Shanghai, where the company is located. The city is currently in quarantine after a surge of infection. Although this hasn’t been confirmed, this is currently the most plausible reason for the delay unless HoYo verse released a statement.

The company hasn’t released an exact date for the Genshin Impact 2.7 update and the live stream. However, they promised fans that they would provide further information on the update’s release date and content adjustment. HoYoverse also confirmed that there will be compensation for players due to delay. Usually, the company gives Primogems to players after fixing any issues with the game.

Genshin Impact is a free-to-play open-world RPG that became popular due to its anime-style visuals, gacha system, and character-switching mechanism. You can download the game on your gaming PC, mobile device, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version of the game is also currently in development.
