Flight School has announced that its newest mech-adventure game, Stonefly, will finally be released this June 1, 2021. This game enables the players to harness wind and soar through the wilderness of Stonefly. You can use your mech to strategically glide among flora and dangerous fauna, confront hungry bugs and go on an adventure to discover a lost family heirloom.
According to the developers, Stonefly is a game that features a heartwarming story that focuses on legacy, belonging, family, and self-discovery. This game will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo. For gaming PC users, you can download Stonefly via Epic Games or Steam. Flight School also confirmed that fans of the game will have a closer look at the game throughout the whole month leading to the game’s release.
Stonefly introduces us to the story of Annika, who is in a question to find a lost family heirloom. To look for this heirloom, Annika uses a customizable mech she can upgrade and customize cosmetically to suit the player’s game style. The game also introduces players to a natural world inspired by a mid-century design and nature.
According to the game’s director, Bohdon Sayre, their studio is composed of a small development team. And together, they planned to create a game that is visually unique and mechanically original. Thus, Stonefly was created. Sayre also mentioned that their team constantly challenges themselves to try and venture out into new things. The studio also said their gratitude towards MWM Interactive for being a great partner, giving them their creative freedom, and exploring new territory.
Flight School stated that Stonefly is an ambitious project for them and is different from anything their team has before. They also expressed how they are very proud of how the game turned out to be.
