League of Legends Introduces New Champion, Gwen

Lol Gwen Champion

League of Legends brings another champion into the Summoner’s Rift. After being teased in video trailers, Riot has finally introduced Gwen, The Hallowed Seamstress. Gwen is related to The Ruined King’s lore. She was a doll created by The Ruined King’s Wife, brought to life by magic. With the ancient and protective power of the Hallowed Mist, Gwen uses the very tools that once created her to fight for the good.

Let’s check out Gwen’s abilities:

Passive – A Thousand Cuts

Gwen’s basic attack deals bonus magic damage on hit based on the percentage of her enemy target’s maximum health. All of her basic attack against enemy champions will heal her for some of the damage dealt.

Q – Snip Snip!

Gwen rapidly snips her scissor between 2 and 6 times, which deals magic damage in a cone. At a minimum, Gwen will snip twice, adding one snip per her basic attack. Enemies in the center of the cone will take true damage and bonus magic damage from her passive.

W – Hallowed Mist

Gwen summons the Hallowed Mist around her for five seconds. During this duration, she gains some armor and magic resistance while inside the mist. Enemies outside of the Mist cannot target Gwen or hit her with any of their abilities. The mist will also follow Gwen the first time she tries to leave it but will eventually dissipate the second time.

E – Skip ‘n Slash

Gwen dashes a short distance which empowers her attacks with increased on-hit damage, range, and speed for 4 seconds. During this damage, attacking an enemy will refund 50% of Gwen’s ability cooldown.

R – Needlework

This ability can be cast up to three times. However, Gwen needs to hit an enemy within 8 seconds for the subsequent cast to be unlocked. Each cast will enable Gwen to fire needles in a line that deals magic damage, slow down enemies, and apply Gwen’s passive bonus magic damage.

The first cast will fire one needle, the second will fire three needles, and the final cast will fire five needles. In total, Gwen will be able to fire nine needles and nine applications of her passive to enemies it hit.

Gwen is now available to play on League of Legends. To try her, make sure to download the latest patch of the game on your gaming pc or laptop.
