It’s official Batman is returning to the world of Fortnite along with Catwoman and Harley Quinn. This latest crossover between DC and Epic Games is called the Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point. This isn’t the first time that Batman was featured in the battle-royale game. However, what makes this newest collaboration unique is that it is driven by a comic-book tie-in.
The Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point will introduce new Batman-themed costumes and items to the game. It will also include a six-issue limited series that was scripted by Christos Gage. This series is based on the concept and story consultation from Epic Games’ Chief Creative Officer Donald Mustard. It will feature art from Christian Duce, John Kalisz, Nelson DeCastro, and Reilly Brown.
And as stated earlier, Zero Point will bring the Dark Knight and other DC characters like Catwoman and Harley Quinn into the Fortnite universe. However, in this series, Batman struggles to remember who he is and where he came from as he tries to solve the mystery in Zero Point. According to the Fortnite Team, this comic series will be in-canon with the Fortnite universe. It will also add new layers to the game’s mythology.
In a separate press release published by DC, ZeroPoint will feature a story wherein Batman fights to recall his past and escape an infinite loop of struggle and chaos. He will have to face villains like Bandolier, Fishstick, Renegade Raider, and more in this story. While he strives to make sense of the strange new world, the Dark Knight will soon uncover the Island’s shocking truth and what lies hiding beyond the Loop. Solving the mystery will also reveal the truth about everything that connects the Island to the mysterious Zero Point.
Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point will be released day-and-date in print and digital formats. Each of the print issues will include a DLC code for a Batman-themed item or costume in Fortnite. Collecting all six comic codes will allow players to unlock an exclusive costume called “Armored Batman Zero.”
Fortnite is a battle royale game by Epic Games and was released for gaming PC, PS4, Xbox One, and mobile phones.
