Valhalla Yule Season Update

Ubisoft launches a free holiday update for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla called “Yule Festival.” This Yule Season Update started last December 17 and will run until January 7.

The Yule Festival will let players get some free cosmetics and explore Valhalla’s world with some new activities. To access the Yule Festival, players must complete one story arc of the game, either the Grantebridgescire or the Ledecestrescire.

Upon accessing the Yule Festival, the player will notice an expansion to the settlement the player has established in the game called Ravensthorpe. This area will be snowier than other areas as an effect of the winter solstice. The settlement will also feature decorations in celebration of the festivities.

As stated, the Yule Festival will include side activities, which will consist of drunk brawls, archery challenges, and other challenges. Players who play these activities will get “Yule Tokens,” which they can exchange for cosmetic rewards.

These Yule rewards include the following:

  • Cozy Fire Pit
  • Mōdraniht Ceremonial Outfit
  • Mōdraniht Tattoo Set
  • Mōdraniht Ceremonial Seax
  • Mōdraniht Ceremonial Shield
  • Ritual Tree Ornaments
  • Sacrificial Altar
  • Traditional Yule Garland
  • Yule Beech Tree

Players can also buy the Niflheim theme in the Ubisoft store. This theme will include a blue set of winter armor, a reindeer steed, and will even turn your crow into a little ice dragon.

According to Ubisoft, the Yule season update will last until February. There will also be a new replayable mode called River Raid will be introduced. There will also be an addition of ranks to the Jomsvikings recruits that players meet during their adventures.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was released last November 10, 2020 on gaming PC and consoles. It’s set in 873 AD and will feature the fictional story set during the Viking invasion of Britain. The player takes the role of Eivor, a Viking raider that becomes involved in the conflict between The Templar Order and the Brotherhood of Assassins.
