Three new characters from Tite Kubo’s manga Bleach are going to be a part of Bandai Namco’s Jump Force. The news came in a press release when the developer and publisher named Ichigo, Rukia, and Aizen as playable characters for the crossover fighting game which features some popular Shonen Jump characters.
Jump Force is the 3D fighter game revealed by Bandai during their E3 press conference. The game puts teams of three to combat in real-world arena-style battles.
For those who aren’t familiar with the manga Bleach, it follows the story of a 15-year old teenager named Ichigo Kurosaki, who has the ability to see ghosts and evil spirits called Hollow. After an unusual encounter with a Soul Reaper named Rukia, he finds himself pulled into the dark and dangerous world of Shinigami.
Here are few details about the three characters:
Ichigo is a human/Quincy/Shinigami who wields a massive Zanpakuto called Zangetsu, which can transform into a Bankai named Tensa Zangetsu. Aside from having the powers of a Shinigami, he can also transform into a half Hollow, allowing him to further enhance his abilities.
Rukia is a soul reaper or Shinigami who wields the elegant Zanpakuto she called Sode no Shirayuki, a weapon notable for its ice powers. Her Zanpakuto can also transform into a Bankai called Hakka no Togame, which strengthens all her powers and abilities.
Sosuke Aizen is a former captain in the Spirit World who waged war against the Soul Society using an army of Arrancar. He is considered as one of the most powerful soul reapers. He wields the Zanpakuto called Kyoka Suigetsu.
These new characters will be joining the roster of characters from popular anime franchises such as Dragonball Z, One Piece, and Naruto. It is also revealed that a few characters from the widely known anime Death Note will be featured as non-playable characters in the game.
Jump Force is scheduled to be released in 2019 for Microsoft Windows gaming PCs, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
