Five months before its release, Warner Bros. Interactive and Monolith Productions released a brief teaser of Middle-earth: Shadow of War, the sequel game to 2014’s Shadow of Mordor. Set to be released on August 22, the game will once again feature an original story set in Middle-Earth. The trailer also shows the return of Talion, a Ranger who died then revived by Celebrimbor, a powerful Wraith.
Let’s watch the teaser below:
In the teaser, it was narrated that Sauron has returned to Middle-Earth to rebuild his army and start a war to rule all. In an attempt to stop him, Talion with Celebrimbor is seen in the cracks of Mount Doom, forging the one thing that can stop Sauron and all his evil plans: a Ring of Power.
It was also shown that as Talion and Celebrimbor strike the final hit, the ring’s power exploded and separated the two. As Celebrimbor tries to get the ring, a dark shadow appeared and made him disappear. Weakened by the occurrence, Talion reaches to The Ring of Power as the narrator continue to speak of its corruption while showing the army of Sauron. The scene then shifted and showed The Ring of Power went into Talion’s finger. He shouted as its power consumes him and takes over his body.
The scene was then followed with Sauron attacking Mordor with his army. In the end, Talion was seen walking out of Mount Doom and whispering to himself: “I’m coming for you.”
The Shadow of War teaser has now gained over 4 million viewers. In a press release, it was revealed by Warner Bros that players will wield a new Ring of Power to confront the deadliest enemies which include the Dark Lord Sauron and the Nazgûl or Ringwraiths.
The game will once again feature the Nemesis System which will create unique personal stories with every enemy and follower as Talion confronts the Dark Lord Sauron and his army. Aside from that, fans of the game became excited when a 5-second video was uploaded, showing Talion crouching on the back of a Drake as it blows fire from its mouth. Many assumed that the new game will have a mounting system, which means players can ride fire-blowing dragons and fly in the sky.
