With the Pre-Season on-going and the year coming to an end, I bet League players think of only one thing, and that is what lies in store for us this 2017. But before that, let’s take a break and once again appreciate what Riot gave us in 2016 including the new and unique champions they released. That’s why for today, we’re going to take a look back at the champions who were introduced to us this year.

Jhin, The Virtuoso, is the lone marksman to be released this year. He is a meticulous criminal psychopath who call himself an artist, and who believed that murder is art. He uses his gun as his paintbrush to create his works of artistic brutality and uses the battlefield as his gruesome theater, sending terror to his opponent. Known for his cruel nature, Ionian citizens has known to fear him and called him as the “Golden Demon.”

Aurelion Sol

Aurelion Sol also known as the Star Forger is a dragon who had once graced the cosmos with celestial wonders. However, he was tricked into servitude by a space-faring empire and had no choice but to wield his great power to their will. But this won’t last long because Aurelion Sol will drag the very stars from the sky to earn back his freedom and once returned to his star-forging ways. Aurelion Sol is a mage-fighter notably known for his connection to Leona, Diana, Taric, and Pantheon.

Taliyah, the Stoneweaver, is the newest champion from Shurima. She is a mage controller that has a unique ability to control and weave stones. She has crossed all the way to Valoran to learn the true nature of her growing power, so she’ll be able to control it. After hearing rumors about the rise of a long-dead emperor, Taliyah decided to return to the sands of Shurima and protect her tribe and her family from the underlying dangers of Shurima shifting sands.

Kled, the Cantankerous Cavalier, is a tank fighter who is always accompanied by his immortal desert drakalops called Skaarl. He is a fearless warrior and a famous folk hero in Noxus, an icon beloved by the soldiers while loathed by the nobility. He is known for his many names including The Great Hussar, The Mountain Admiral, Sir Admiral Major, and Lord Colonel Major Centurion. Many stories tell of his successful battles.

Ivern is known to many as the Green Father. He is a strange half-man and half-tree who roams around the forests of Runeterra, cultivating life wherever he goes. He was once a fierce warrior who fought with the Ionians to defeat the Iceborn but was transformed into another being after cutting off the God-Willow tree. After knowing the secrets of the natural world, he now travels, enriching life and protecting anything that lives.

Camille, the Steel Shadow, is an elite operative in Piltover who ensures that the machine and its Zaunite underbelly work smoothly. Due to her dedication to her work as principal intelligence, she let the elites work on her body for a hex tech augmentation. This enabled her to push her power beyond that of her human body and made her more efficient. Camille continues to pursuit superiority through this hex tech body augmentation, leaving many to wonder if she’s more of a machine than an actual human.

As 2016 ends, we can only hope that Riot will continue to provide us with new and exciting champions on their roster of characters in 2017. League of Legends is a free MOBA game from Riot Games for Microsoft Windows gaming PCs and laptops.
