RPG’s – you either love them, or hate them. But what does it takes to make an RPG awesome? Those things that will make you hook into it and play it in your gaming laptop for hours. Well, here are several things that we use as qualifications to determine if an RPG is worth our time.
1. Character Creation
The best thing about RPG probably is it’s character creation, you can customized your character to look like you or someone you really idolized. That’s why some people take up more time than other players.
2. Good Side Quests to Entertain You
The thing about side quests take the boredom out of the main quests. It helps players to be distracted every now and then.
3. Not Every Main Character is OP
This is important is helps to provide a sense of where the player belongs in the world. While they do grow in power, and may even become a god by the end, there should be reminders that there are things out there that are more powerful. Everyone needs to invest time to their own characters, make them stronger, train their skills and forge stronger armors and weapons.
4. Meet Characters with Immersing Background Story
Relatable characters are incredibly important. Not just blank, run-of-the-mill characters.
5. Live in a New Fictional World
Many RPGs present an entirely different world from our own. Immersion creates the feel of the game, it gives the players the feeling that you are actually interacting with the world and characters.
6. It’s All About the Plot
There are so many things I love about RPGs that can completely make or break the game. Really when it comes down to it, a good or unique plot can really help make a game.
7. Taking Part on an Adventure of a Lifetime
Like Bilbo Baggin’s every player that start a new RPG game provides them a new adventure: a new story, new challenges and new places to go to (virtually). And whether it’s defeating an army of evil people or rising from the top to become a legendary hero, we all know that each story will give us an adventure of a lifetime.
