At the 2016 Game Awards, the independent video game developer Telltale announced that they were in the process of making a Guardians of the Galaxy game. Last March 9, Telltale finally unveiled the first look at what the game looks like. It is not an actual trailer, though, but some screenshots of the game.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy – The Telltale Series brings a brand new story of the universe unlikeliest heroes: Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, and Drax the Destroyer. In the wake of another battle, the Guardians of the Galaxy discover an artifact that possessed of unspeakable power. Each of them has the reason to desire the relic, but so does the ruthless enemy hiding in the shadows, who will stop at nothing to get it from their hands.

Traveling around the universe set to the beat of the awesome music, be in the rocket-powered boots of the master strategist Star-Lord as you take part in an original Guardians adventure, where your decisions and actions affect the story.

When Telltale CEO Kevin Brune asked in an interview why they chose the Guardians of the Galaxy out of all the Marvel series, he explained it was the “energizing blend of humor, emotion, teamwork, and full-on sci-fi action-adventure of the Guardians” that makes it the perfect theme for their next episodic game series.

He also revealed that the players can take on multiple roles within the ragtag band of heroes. They can also take the pilot’s seat in directing their escapades around the universe.

The game will be a five-part adventure that will be released episodically. It will be coming to consoles, gaming PCs, and mobile devices. Its first episode is said to be release in the Spring, just in time for the upcoming release of the Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 Movie.

For now, let’s check out the game’s screenshots:
