Life is Strange is a graphic video game developed by the Paris-based company, Dontnod Entertainment. It was published by Square Enix, and its episodes were released periodically throughout 2015.

The game’s plot focuses on the story of an eighteen-year-old photography student named Maxine Caulfield, who discovers that she has the power to rewind time at any moment. This ability causes her choices to create a butterfly effect in the time stream. The story starts with Max’s vision of a storm approaching Arcadia Bay, Oregon. After her vision, she found out her ability and was able to save her childhood friend, Chloe Price from getting killed by Nathan Prescott. The two friends reunite and work together to discover Max’s powers. And at the same time, try to investigate the mysterious disappearance of Rachel Amber. Little do they know about the dark secrets that lurk in Arcadia Bay and the fact that Max’s powers may lead to an impending catastrophe.

Life is Strange is played from a third-person view. Its mechanics allow players to rewind any event within a specified period and redo any action that has been done. The game also allows players to examine and interact objects. Players should also remember that each choice can make changes into the environment, and change the course of the story. Dialogues with non-playable characters also play an imminent role in the game. There are some instances, where choices in each conversation can alter the story and cause short or long-term consequences.
