Overwatch is one of the hottest games, released for consoles, and Windows gaming PC. Two months after its release, Blizzard is finally revealing details about its new hero.

Overwatch Sniper

In a tweet posted last July 7, Overwatch showed a communication record of Mercy and Torbjorn. It also shows an image of a prototype biotic rifle. The file details show a gun developed by Torbjorn using Mercy’s biotic healing mechanism. Torbjorn described the proposed gun as a weapon “that could be equipped by medics in the field.” Mercy, on the other hand, was worried about how the prototype’s development. That the prototype can lead to “a weaponized version of her technology.”

There have been rumors about the identity of the upcoming hero, a sniper called Sombra. The Escapist listed down hints including some audio files from Reaper that mentioned Sombra. As well as documents in Dorado with the same name.

These hints along with the teaser gave way for Overwatch fans to come up with a theory. That Sombra was a soldier in the same conflict that supposedly killed Reaper and Soldier: 76. A theory that connected Sombra to Ana Amari. She is one of the six founding members of Overwatch alongside Reaper and Solider: 76.

Ana Amari also happens to be Pharah’s mother. She is a renowned Egyptian shooter and has an intense sense of honor and duty. Like her daughter, she bore a tattoo of an Eye of Horus as a symbol of protection. You could also see Ana carrying a sniper rifle in one of the backstory artwork.

How about you? What are your theories about the new Overwatch hero?
