Halo Wars 2 Spotlight on E3 2016

Halo Wars 2

Halo Wars was first released for XBox 360 on 2009. It was a real-time strategy game set in a science fiction universe of the Halo Series. The game was a success, followed by an announcement of the sequel last August 2015 at Gamescom 2015. And just last week at E3, we finally saw the trailer for Halo Wars 2 as released by Microsoft Game Studios.

Developed by Creative Assembly and 343 Industries, Halo Wars 2 will feature two factions: the United Nations Space Command (UNSC) and the Banished. It will also come with a campaign composed with 13 missions. Like its prequel, Halo Wars 2 will take place in the fictional universe of the Halo Series. The game is set 28 years after the events of Halo Wars. And will feature the story of Captain James Cutter and his crew aboard the UNSC warship Spirit of Fire. After being awaken from cryosleep, the Spirit of Fire’s forces will battle out with a faction known as the Banished led by the Brute warlord Atrox.

The game will also feature a number of multiplayer modes including:

● Solo play against AI
● Deathmatch
● Stronghold
● Domination
● Blitz

To spice things up, Microsoft teased with the game’s Windows 10 version at PC Gaming Show. Dan Ayoub of 343 Industries brought a demo video of Halo Wars 2 to show the first parts of the game. Check out the video below:

With these graphics, we could definitely expect more when played on a 4k gaming PC or gaming laptop. In addition, a beta multiplayer beta for the game is available to download on Xbox One from June 16 to 20. The beta will include two game modes: Domination and Deathmatch.

Halo Wars 2 is scheduled to be released on February 21, 2017. Microsoft also revealed an Ultimate Edition for the game. It will include a copy of Halo Wars: Definition Edition, and a content season pass.
